These residential homes, community centers and schools are where we work towards fulfilling our mission of providing continuity, love and a better future for the children.
The residential homes where we work care for children who have been removed from their own homes by the Chilean family court system due to abuse or neglect. The community centers provide children from the most vulnerable areas of Santiago with after-school activities, homework help, and emotional guidance. VE also works with a school that serves children with special needs and a daycare center for children who live in one of Santiago’s informal settlements.

Aldea Buen Camino
Aldea Buen Camino, is a residential home that works to support boys who have had their rights violated and have been placed there by the courts for their safety. Aldea Buen Camino currently works with about 22 boys although has capacity for 30 boys from the ages of 5 to 18. VE volunteers at Aldea Buen Camino work to support and accompany the boys in their day to day life particularly working to develop their creativity and tolerance of frustrations.
Fundación Acompaña
Casa Fundación Acompaña, is a new residential home that works to restore the rights of girls who have suffered neglect or abuse. Casa Acompaña currently cares for 12 girls from the ages of 6 to 17. VE volunteers provide homework help, fun workshops, emotional support, and help with everyday tasks to support the work of the tías.
Hogar de niñas La Granja
Founded in 1976, Hogar de niñas La Granja, works directly with girls who have a court protection order; the girls have often had their basic rights violated. The work of the home is focused on supporting the girls in a very caring, supportive environment to ensure their development. Currently 45 girls lives in the home, divided into 4 houses. The volunteers work with houses running activities and workshops depending on the ages and needs of the girls.
Centro Comunitario Mi Club Domingo Savio
Although it was founded as a residential home in 1979, “Mi Club” Domingo Savio is now an exciting after-school community center for about 40 children between the ages of 5 and 14. Located in La Granja, one of the most vulnerable areas of Santiago, Domingo Savio provides a long-term and family-like atmosphere for children without stable living situations to help improve their academic performance and give them a more positive outlook on their futures. VE volunteers help tías and tíos run workshops in areas such as art, sports and cooking, and assist during homework hours, and also run their own reading, and English workshops, just to name a few.
Nuestra Señora de la Paz
In 1980 Nuestra Señora de la Paz, was founded to help support girls in irregular or conflicted situations, and also supporting their families. Many of the girls have suffered neglect, abuse and intra family violence. Currently 30 girls live in the home, aged between 6 and 18 years. The home aims to reinsert the girls to their family and teach them core values including respect, responsibility and solidarity. The volunteers support the team with exciting workshops and activities that also share with the girls new and different cultures.
