VE Global in Tandem

Over six years ago, Tandem Santiago Language School and VE Global formed a partnership which is still going strong today!

For every student who enrolls in classes at Tandem, $2.500 pesos ($US 5) is donated to VE in order to help us continue our work with children at social risk in Santiago. Tandem also offers VE volunteers a 15% tuition fee discount if they enrol in Spanish language classes with them. That is exactly what Flic Jeyes, VE’s current Life Skills Program Coordinator, did as soon as she arrived to Chile:

“The teachers were really helpful and friendly, ensuring everyone was involved in the classes. The VE discount made the classes more affordable and were a great value for money’’

Another current VE volunteer, Charlotte, also recently took classes at Tandem:

‘’We were in really small groups and the teachers worked hard to give us personalized one-on-one attention throughout the course.’’

The VE volunteers who come to us with a limited previous knowledge of Spanish can be immersed in the language and culture through Tandem, so that they will be able to communicate more effectively with the children, tíos, and tías when working in our partner organizations.

This contribution has been an incredible support to VE over the past six years. We are very grateful for their generosity and hope there is a bright future for our special partnership.
